STATEMENT OF BELIEFS
THE BIBLE
We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are God's inspired word, and in the original writings, they are without error. We believe the Scriptures were written by God through people and therefore speak with the authority of God while reflecting the backgrounds, styles, and vernacular of the human authors. We believe that the Scriptures are alive and active, and that they never change, although our understanding of them may.
GOD
We believe in one God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
JESUS CHRIST
We believe that Jesus was fully man and fully God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. We believe he was raised from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now acts as the only mediator between God and people.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit, as the third person of the Trinity, is to apply the saving work of Christ. He does this by bringing conviction to a person's heart and soul, to reveal to them their need for Christ. He regenerates their heart and then permanently indwells them when they believe. His ongoing work is to guide, instruct, give spiritual gifts, and empower the believer for godly living and service.
HUMANITY
We believe that people were created in the image of God for a loving relationship with God. However, sin separated us from God. The effects of this fall from our intended relationship with God can be reversed by receiving in faith what Jesus made available to us by His life, death, and resurrection.
SALVATION
We believe that we are saved by grace through faith, and not by our works. This is the free gift of God, and not a result of our works or efforts.
THE CHURCH
We believe that there is one true Church universal made up of all people who have confessed Jesus is the Son of God, and have been reconciled back to the Father through Him. The diversity of all believers working together, using their gifts to build up one another, form the different parts of the body of Christ, the Church. The scripture commands believers to gather together to devote themselves to worship, prayer, teaching of God’s Word, communion, outreach, baptism, and using our gifts to build up one another. Wherever God’s people meet in obedience to this command, there is the local expression of the church. We believe that Jesus is the Lord and Head of the Church, and that every local church has the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs.
SANCTIFICATION
We believe that transformation, growth and life change are evidence of a person’s connection to God. As we continue to pursue a relationship with God, He will continue to change us to become more like Christ.
SACRAMENTS
We believe that we are to follow Jesus’ example in water baptism after having given our life to Christ. Likewise, we celebrate Jesus’ sacrifice by taking the elements of communion, like Jesus and His disciples did.
HISTORY
New Beginnings Church was born more than 20 years ago during a small gathering in the home of then Pastor, Rick Ginnings. The church began to grow and would leave the home of Rick and Susie, and would eventually meet in several locations before settling into our current location. New Beginnings has had a few Pastors of the last two decades, and styles have changed along the way, but the vision has never changed.
OUR VISION
New Beginnings Church is a come as you are church that welcomes all people equally. Every week, we encounter God through praise, prayer, and the word of God. It is our desire to build relationships with everyone who enters our building and help them to know Jesus better. We offer services for kids from newborn to 6th grade every Sunday morning. Ultimately, we want to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community and share with them the love that God has shown us.
Tony Burns
Lead Pastor
Tony began as the lead pastor at New Beginnings in August of 2024. This is a full-circle moment for the call God has put on his life, as this was the place God called him to preach more than 20 years ago. Tony has been married to his high school sweetheart Chrissy, since 2002, and together they have raised 4 children. Together, they hope to guide New Beginnings Church in the new direction that God has for this church.
